ENCAUSTIC ART
ICONOESTRELLA.png

Encaustic The word encaustic originates from the Greek word enkaustikos, which means to burn in, and this element of heat is necessary for a painting to be called encaustic. Encaustic painting, also known as hot wax painting, involves using heated beeswax with damar resin and colored pigment. The heated pigment is then brushed on a ridge surface, usually wood. Encaustic pieces mature over time and have a unique luster to them.

They can have a textured surface or a glassy smooth one. My encaustic pieces are original pieces that are usually framed in a floating frame.
